I am Julianne’s real and official Mother (mommy to Julianne).

From time to time people have said that I did a great job raising Julianne.

But that statement isn’t true and doesn’t give credit to all of the people throughout Julianne’s life who have contributed in some way to help her get to where she is.

I wish I could list all of them, but the truth is that some who have helped are not even known to me and not even known to Julianne.

But nonetheless, there are many who have helped in some way or another. There is an African proverb that says: It takes a village to raise a child. This is definitely the case with Julianne, and all of my children.

I suspect and I believe it is true, that it takes a village…, for anyone and everyone who passes through this world.

In Julianne’s case, it has taken literally millions of people to help her get to where she is.

The unfortunate reality is that neither I, nor Julianne can possibly personally thank everyone who helped or voted for Julianne and Apollo, so they could win ABC’s Dancing with the Stars and all of the other numerous things she has been able to experience (see list of some of her experiences).

In spite of the fact that I cannot personally say thank you to everyone, I would still like to say THANK YOU and pay tribute to those who have helped in any way! If you are one of the many who helped by voting for Julianne and Apolo, or have helped in some other way, and I fail to mention you below, please email me at (MarriannNelson@Officialjuliannehoughfanclub.com) and share your story (and a picture of you) with me about how you helped.

I would love to hear from each of you. Where and when Possible (and with your permission) I will try to respond to everyone who writes and I will try to include your story somehow in this tribute page to the village.

Following is a list and some photographs of some of the people from the village who have made a difference (there is no significance to where a person appears in this list):

Marriann Nelson (real official genetic Mom --- the one who wiped her nose and other parts….)

Bruce Hough (real official genetic Dad – the money man who keeps on giving!)

Julianne Hough (The Baby of the Family, one who took advantage of the opportunities and help she was given.)

Derek Hough (an official genetic Brother who was there for Julianne in London and inspired and competed with Julianne, and led the way to England.)

Sharee (the 2nd mother (and the oldest genetic sister) Julianne had and the sibling who led the way in dance and as a great example.)

Katherine - (an official genetic Sister and who has the courage to be herself and one of Julianne’s best buddies.)

Marabeth - (an official genetic Sister whose courage led the way in movies and singing and Nashville.)

Aaron Nelson - (the official real genetic mom’s current husband who liked having water fights and pushing Julianne & Derek in the pool with their clothes on, also known as - the evil genius that no one likes but who is usually (okay always) right.)

Debra Hough (the official real genetic dad’s current wife and one of Julianne’s mother’s)

Shirley Ballas – (an official London coach and real guardian mother by choice, who loved, coached, trained and created a world champion dancer and tough cookie.)

Corky Ballas – (an official Houston coach and real guardian father by choice, whose young heart kept Julianne and Derek “Living With Passion”.)

Mark Ballas – (an official brother, London World Champion dance partner, and friend.)

Audrey - (an official London grandmother, who supported, loved, cleaned, and who sacrificed her time to make sure Julianne had dinner prepared and on the table everyday after school.)

Muffin - (an official London dog who was a comfort to Julianne when she was away from her U.S. dogs, Shiba in Vegas, and Bella in Utah.

Kallie Nelson - (an official sister, supporter of “Dancing With The Stars” and the one that makes sure the family plays games at family gatherings.)

Kimberly (Nelson) Amos - (an official sister that helped drive Julianne to grade school and Back Stage Dance Studio while in Vegas.)

AJ - (an official brother who supported Julianne in Disneyland and Vegas Competitions, and instigated the whip cream fights with Aaron when Julianne came home on her school breaks from London.)

Brittany – (an official sister a year older than Julianne. They supported each other during a difficult time after both sets of parents divorced and both moved from Utah to Vegas.)

Shiba - (an official sweet dog everyone loves to love.)

These are some of the official members of Julianne’s family. (To be continually updated)
